Contact-free vital signs1
Cleared as a Class II medical device by the FDA
Oxevision's FDA cleared medical device sets a new standard for medical monitoring in behavioral health settings. By allowing staff to measure pulse rate and breathing rate (chest wall movement) without the need for physical contact, this cutting-edge medical device enhances patient comfort and safety. The device provides accurate and reliable measurements, aiding healthcare professionals in promptly detecting any irregularities or changes in vital signs.
Spot-check measurements for private and semi-private rooms:
- Medical-grade pulse rate and breathing rate measurements, as accurate as contact devices:
- Pulse rate: ± 3 beats per minute
- Breathing rate (chest wall movements): ± 2 breaths per minute - Brief live 15-second vision into the room so staff can:
- Verify patient safety at night (just as per protocol during a Q15 safety check)
- Confirm that vital signs are being taken for the correct patient
Note: No clear video is recorded to protect patients’ privacy and dignity - Regular usage reports provided to clinical management for compliance monitoring

Shows objective vital signs data in a room over time. This can provide staff with additional insight into the patient’s recent state and surface any underlying trends which may be of interest.
Sleep monitoring1
Cleared as a Class II medical device by the FDA
Oxevision uses pulse and breathing rate measurements and activity data to assess patients’ sleep/wake patterns, with a level of accuracy superior to wearables and comparable to the gold-standard (polysomnography). Staff can view automated, objective sleep reports for patients in private and semi-private rooms to support clinical decision-making.

Oxevision Observations1
This digital rounding tool simplifies the procedure for patient care, certifying compliance and recording patient location and behavior, while also guaranteeing adherence to scheduled observations. It validates and documents checks every 15 minutes, creating an audit trail. This tool enhances the ability of healthcare personnel to carry out rounds and assessments in a methodical fashion, guaranteeing prompt and thorough attention to patients' requirements.
Q15 safety checks are necessary to ensure patient safety but are time consuming, prone to human error and non-compliance, and often disrupt patients’ sleep and privacy at night.
Oxevision Observations replaces paper and clipboard documentation and can be accessed 24/7 via portable devices or a fixed screen in the nursing station. It is so much more than just a rounding tool because it enables staff to:
- Take therapeutically valuable night-time observations with FDA cleared contact-free vital sign measurements1 that do not disturb patients’ sleep
- Reduce the time it takes for them to complete observation rounds with its intuitive workflow
- Improve compliance with a suite of weekly facility observation compliance reports, and real-time on-unit compliance reports.

Activity alerts and reports1
Note: Today these are available for private rooms only. However, development is in progress to make these available in semi-private rooms.
A lot can happen in between safety checks, particularly at night. Oxevision provides information and notifications to clinical staff about a patients' location in their room.
The location information and notifications consist of general room states (e.g. “In Bed”, “In Room”, “Empty”) and alerts and warnings that can be configured to support an individual unit’s clinical needs:
- “Edge of Bed” and “Out of Bed” alerts
- “In Bathroom/Blind spot” warnings and alerts
- “At Door” warnings and alerts
- “Room Entry” warnings
- “Out of Room” alerts.
Staff can also gain additional insights with Activity Reports. These reports enable staff to review night-time and day-time location patterns.
Recent Incident Review1
Incident reporting is time consuming and there may be a lack of reliable evidence, particularly when an incident occurs in a patient’s room.
Recent Incident Review enables authorized staff to access blurred video when there has been an unwitnessed incident in a patient’s room. This:
- Helps staff to provide timely assessments of incidents and determine the most appropriate care response (for example, has a patient hit their head during a fall and do they require a visit to the ER?)
- Enables staff to document an accurate and objective narrative when an incident occurs in a patient’s room including vital signs and trends data.
Seclusion Session Report1
Obtaining physical health observations while a patient is in seclusion or restraint is needed but can be challenging and put the patient and staff member at risk.
Oxevision’s Seclusion Session Report can be used for a seclusion session or restraint. It enables staff to gain insights including:
- Vital signs information including vital signs observations and trends
- A patient’s activity levels and a “No Activity” alert if no activity is detected within an occupied room for a prolonged time
- Location insights, including an “In Bathroom” status (if applicable)
- Emergency treatment order administration and timings (optional).
